Your role

IIT Gandhinagar's department of Electrical Engineering is looking for PhD students to join their research teams.

You will join the team as a Post-Doctoral Fellow and work on a project involving - “PV-based Fast EV Charger for Optimized Battery Performance”.

Job description:

• The candidate will work on the design and development of an EV charger wherein a power electronics converter will be controlled to provide fast charging without compromising battery life.
• This project will interface photovoltaic energy conversion and battery energy storage by ensuring optimized design and operation for Indian ambient and power grid conditions.
• The use of data-driven modeling and control will be central to the problem to ensure the high accuracy, efficiency, and reliability of the system.

Salary & benefits

• Pay is up to INR 50000/- per month plus HRA INR 10,000/- (if on-campus accommodation is not available)

About you

To apply for this position, you must have the following eligibility criteria:

Qualification:

• PhD in Electrical/ Electronics/ Chemical/ Computer science/ Mechanical Engineering, and related disciplines, with good scientific publications and a zeal to develop India-centric green energy solutions.
• Candidates who have submitted their thesis may also apply.
• Experience in power electronics hardware, design, and control using FPGA/DSP, the know-how of power engineering simulations and programming in MATLAB, SIMULINK, PSIM, LT SPICE, etc.
• Duration: 1 year (maybe extendable to one more year based on performance)
